2006 see’s the Matchbox brand return full circle to its roots and heritage. Out goes the Matchbox swirl banner of the last few years, and replacing it, is a new lozenge echoing that of the logo prior to the Mattel era. The new logo is NOT an exact copy of the old Lesney ‘Matchbox’ logo – note the missing ‘speech’ marks at either end.
For 2006, there are 18 new castings, with some models making a return to the 1-75 line up.
What is significant for 2006 is the amalgamation of the ROW and USA models into one worldwide series.
