One of the stand out features of the 1-75 range from around 1969 to 1982 was the artwork on the boxes for the models. One could say that the modern day internpretation of this is the Tomica range of today. And even today, despite the Matchbox re-brand, we still have some maner of artwork on the blister packs. So a litte nod to the heritage of the brand.
The artwork took many a form over the years and really made the boxes stand out from the othe diecast models such as the Corgi Junoirs at the time.
Below are some pieces of artwork from the Lesney range until around 1974.
